Local author Jacqueline Garlick will be at the Chatham branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library on March 6 at 6:30 p.m.

She’ll be reading from her debut novel, “Lumiere,” talking about her writing process, and signing copies of her book, which will be for sale on site.

The former Superior Tool and Die Company of Chatham, founded by Garlick’s father, Jack Garlick, is the inspiration behind this novel.

The book is a romantic steam-punk fantasy, which is a sub-genre of science fiction that is generally set in an alternate Victorian-type world but features modern-day technology.
