A Chatham woman faces multiple charges after police say someone broke into a house early Saturday morning and assaulted a resident.
Police were called shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday over a report of a disturbance at a home on Churchill Park Road in Chatham.
Officers investigated and learned an intoxicated woman had entered the residence without permission and assaulted a 26-year-old woman, police say.
It wasn’t a long search for the suspect. Police say the officers located the accused just outside the residence and gave her a set of steel bracelets and a ride in a police cruiser.
A 28-year-old Chatham woman is charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling and assault.
