One mouse click, one arrest

A Chatham man faces additional charges after his ankle tracker showed he was not where he was supposed to be, according to Chatham-Kent police.

On Tuesday, a bail compliance officer checked the GPS monitoring and saw the man’s tracking data revealed he had violated the restrictions outlined in his release order.

Police investigated and saw the man had been to multiple spots in Chatham outside his assigned area.

As a result, on Wednesday morning shortly after 10 a.m., officers found the man and slapped on the handcuffs.

A 42-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to comply.

Evening threats

A Chatham man is looking at charges after police say he threatened two individuals Wednesday evening.

A complainant reported that someone was yelling and threatening two people on Coverdale Street.

Officers investigated and charged a 26-year-old Chatham man with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and uttering threats to property.

As a bonus, after his arrest, it was determined that the accused was also found to be breaching his release order which required him not to contact or communicate with the specific persons and not to be within a specific distance of their residence.

As a result, he also faces two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
