Don Pearson, general manager of the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority, left, accepts a $5,000 donation from GDF Suez’s Mark Gilmore, director of operations for GDF in Canada; Keith Naicker, lead wind tech for the company’s East Lake St. Clair project; and Andrew Wayling, lead wind tech for GDF’s Erieau project.
The two wind farms each have 55 turbines and produce 99 megawatts of electricity.
“We really support their conservation effort,” Gilmore said of the LTVCA.
The donation is to the Greening Partnership between the LTVCA and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. According to the LTVCA, the funds will be used to help restore wetlands in the municipality.
