As is typical this winter in Chatham-Kent, we will have a day of heavy snow, combined with enough wind to reduce visibility, followed by a cold snap.

Environment Canada said we could receive as much as 25 centimetres of snow over the course of the day, as this storm stomps through the municipality and marches eastward.

Temperatures, currently just below freezing, will drop to about -7C by later this afternoon, and will dip down to -17 tonight.

That has prompted the Public Health Unit to issue yet another cold weather alert.

Thursday’s high is expected to be a brisk -6, but it warms up again Friday to 6, so much of what we receive today will be melted by the weekend.
