Robbery charges

Tuesday delivered a man wanted in connection with a robbery right into the hands of Chatham-Kent police.

About 10:20 a.m., police say the man walked into the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant related to a May 9, robbery investigation in Chatham.

A 62-year-old Chatham man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. He is charged with failing to comply with a release order and robbery.

Woman hits man, arrested

A family dispute turned physical Tuesday night, and a woman faces charges as a result.

Police were called to King Street West in Chatham for a family dispute.

Police learned a verbal argument escalated when the woman struck the man several times.

A 25-year-old Chatham woman is charged with assault.

Theft charges

It took a day, but a Chatham-Kent police officer found his man.

On Monday early evening, police responded to Lafontaine Street in Wallaceburg for a theft investigation.

The officer learned a man attended the address and stole fishing poles. The man was identified via surveillance footage.

On Tuesday, also early evening, the investigating officer located the man on Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg and arrested him. He was charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

Mischief arrest

A bike ride in Tilbury … at 3 a.m. Tuesday morning … led to the arrest of a woman.

An officer spotted a woman he recognized from previous encounters riding a bike on Prospect Street.

The officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to a mischief investigation.

A 43-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and released with a future court date.

Missed court date

A disturbance calls Tuesday evening in Blenheim led to an arrest for a missed court date.

Police got the call about 8:30 p.m. to Talbot Street in Blenheim.

Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to several offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

A 28-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He faces charges of failing to attend court, possession of stolen property, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm/ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
