Alleged shoplifting biter charged with assault

A woman faces assault charges after someone bit an employee at a Chatham business Wednesday night.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business on Park Avenue East. The woman involved was still there. When confronted by staff, police say the female bit one of the employees, causing no significant injury. 

A 39-year old female was arrested for assault.

B&E in Wallaceburg

Police are looking into an early morning break-in at a business in Wallaceburg.

A door at the business on Base Line Road had been damaged to gain entry into the building. As of Thursday morning, it is unknown if anything had been taken. 

The investigation is ongoing and there are currently no suspects.
