Assault and threats
Chatham-Kent police have charged a Chatham man with assault after a Father’s Day altercation on Foster Street in Chatham.
Police got the call shortly before 10:30 p.m. for a disturbance.
Through investigation, police learned a man and a woman were in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in the woman receiving physical injury. The man also made utterances to cause further harm, police say.
A 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
Man arrested for assault with a weapon
On May 31, police responded to an assault investigation on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police learned the man entered a home uninvited and used a lamp to assault the victim, which resulted in the victim being transported to the hospital by EMS.
The man was bound by a release order not to possess any weapons as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he was not located.
On Sunday, officers on general patrol located the man on West Street in Dresden.
A 36-year-old Dresden man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a release order. He was held pending a bail hearing.
