Impaired, drug charges
A Chatham man is facing impaired and drug possession charges following a traffic stop early Friday morning.
Chatham-Kent police say an officer pulled a vehicle over shortly after 1 a.m. on Michener Road in Chatham.
Through investigation, the officer believed the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was also found to be in possession of suspected hydromorphone, police say.
A 38-year-old Chatham man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit and drug possession.
Chatham break-ins
Sometime Thursday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., someone forced their way into a home on Lark Street, causing about $300 damage.
Once inside, the suspect(s) stole jewelry, cash and family documents.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at approximately $2,000.

Once inside, the suspect(s) stole jewelry, US silver dollars and TOPPS baseball cards. Total value of the theft has been estimated at approximately $10,000.
