Woman charged with assault

A Chatham woman faces assault with a weapon charges after an argument turned violent Saturday night.

Chatham-Kent police got the call shortly after 11:30 p.m. Sunday and responded to Galbraith Street in Chatham for an assault investigation.

Police learned a woman and a man engaged in a dispute on Saturday, which resulted in the woman throwing an item at the man, police say.

A 64-year-old Chatham woman was charged with assault with a weapon.

When push comes to arrest

A Chatham woman faces charges after police say she shoved a couple of people Sunday evening.

At 7:02 p.m., police responded to Sheldon Avenue in Chatham for a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police learned a woman was messaging a woman and then attended her home on Sheldon Avenue. The woman was banging on the windows, and a man exited the home to speak with the woman.

A bystander witnessing the confrontation asked the man and woman to take their argument elsewhere. The woman shoved the bystander, police say, and then turned to the man and pushed him.

Through investigation, police confirmed the woman was bound by conditions not to communicate with or attend any place the other woman is known to be.

A 23-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order and two counts of assault.

B&E charges on Michener Road

A Chatham man faces charges after someone forced their way into an apartment on Michener Road Sunday.

Chatham-Kent police received a call shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday for a mischief call.

Through investigation, police learned a man forcefully opened the door to a unit causing damage to a wall.

A 66-year-old Chatham man was charged with breaking and entering. 

Suspects sought in E-Bike thefts

Police were called to a Vanier Drive address in Chatham Saturday morning for a break and enter.

Sometime over the past two weeks, entry was gained, and a red Daymack E-Bike was taken from residence.

Later in the day Saturday, officers were dispatched to Harwich Street in Chatham to investigate a break and enter there.

Sometime over the past three days, a shed was entered and someone removed several tools and a blue GIO E-Bike.
