After pulling its snowplows off the road last night due to poor visibility and hazardous driving conditions, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent reports the plows headed back out early this morning, between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Meanwhile, all school buses in the municipality remain off the roads again today, due to” extreme winter weather and road conditions,” according to the local school bus website. Then again, they have no schools to attend anyway, as the St. Clair Catholic and Lambton-Kent District school boards have closed their schools to students and staff today due to the weather.
Environment Canada is calling for a high of only -20C today, with wind chills pegged at about -39, as the wind continues to attack us from the southwest at 30 km/h with gusts up to 50 km/h.
Expect a low overnight of -24C, and winds to continue.
