The United Way of Chatham-Kent has launched a program celebrating the sharing and caring that happens when people come together.

The 12 Days of Giving are on now, running until Dec. 15, with a focus on hope and connection.

“Just as the pandemic changed almost everything about the world around us, it changed almost everything about the world within us,” Patricia Peters, acting CEO of UWoCK, said in a media release. “The same way it magnified inequities, it magnified the power of coming together. United Way has chosen to take this opportunity to showcase this in our annual campaign.”

The United Way invites the community to come together to ensure no one is left behind during this season of giving.

“Despite the challenges of 2021, or perhaps, because of them, I’m sensing optimism in Chatham-Kent. Collectively, we’ve risen to the task and persevered,” Wes Thompson, president of the Board of Directors of UWoCK, said. “The late John Bradley once encouraged me not to ‘give until it hurts. Instead, give until it feels good.’ I often reflect on that.”

UWoCK will share stories about collaborative partnerships, while celebrating the successes they continue to inspire.
