Drug bust

Last night, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at an apartment in Wallaceburg.

Approximately $4,000 worth of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and lorazepam was seized. Officers also seized a large quantity of Canadian cash, a .177 calibre firearm, Taser, digital scales, packing materials, debt lists and several cell phones.

A 34-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of failing to comply, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Black Lives Matter

On Sunday afternoon, police responded to a theft complaint in Dresden.

Through investigation, police learned that an unknown man stole a Black Lives Matter flag from the corner of Main Street and North Street. The man fled on a motorcycle.

The same flag was removed from the area the night before and found in a nearby garbage can.

Failing to comply

On March 27, a man entered into a Probation Order with several conditions. One of those conditions stated that he was not to contact or communicate with a specific Chatham woman.

On June 21, police say the man called the woman seven times.

The next day, police say the man called and texted the woman.

Yesterday, police located the suspect and he was arrested.

A 25-year-old Chatham man has been charged with three counts of failing to comply with his Probation Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Truck stolen

Sometime late last night or early this morning, someone stole a yellow 2006 F-250 diesel pick-up truck from a residence on Huffman Road.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates 504 8FP.
