Driver badly injured in accident near Highgate

A person is listed in life-threatening condition after a vehicle struck a tree near Highgate yesterday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police say the crash took place about 4 p.m. Thursday on Orford Road where the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

Emergency crews responded and the driver was taken to hospital and is now listed in life-threatening condition..

The traffic unit is currently in charge of the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to

Truck stolen

Sometime after midnight, a truck was taken from the Kent Bridge area. 

The truck is a 1999 GMC Sierra, black with licence plate AS81508. 

The truck has larger tires and is very distinguishable.
