$4K damage for $50 in copper wire

Chatham-Kent Police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Chatham.

Sometime between Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. and Aug. 31 at 8 a.m., someone entered a home that is under construction on Churchill Park Road. 

Approximately $50 worth of copper wiring was taken and about $4,000 worth of damage was caused to the home.

Another B&E

Police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Chatham.

On or before Aug. 26, unknown suspect(s) pried open the door to gain entry into an outbuilding on Grand Avenue West. 

Four large speakers were taken from the building with a total value of $4,000.

Trailer stolen

Police are looking for information regarding a stolen trailer in Chatham.

Sometime between Aug.30 at 1 p.m. and Aug. 31 at 9 a.m., unknown suspect(s) stole an enclosed 5×8 U-Haul trailer from a property on Queens Line. 

The trailer has the U-Haul identification number of AV5329B in the upper right corner, U-Haul markings all over it and there was an attached Oregon marker with plate number FR00062. 

The value of the trailer is approximately $5,000.

Driving offences 

Yesterday afternoon around 3 p.m., an officer on general patrol on Princess Street South in Chatham observed a vehicle on the roadway with no plates. 

The officer initiated a traffic stop to investigate further and learned that the man was currently prohibited to drive on a Canada wide conviction for dangerous driving. As well, the man is currently suspended from driving for remedial and unpaid fines in Ontario.

 

His vehicle was impounded for 45 days. He was arrested and released with a future court date.
