One new, one recovered today in C-K

Chatham-Kent Public Health reported one new case of COVID-19 on Tuesday. 

In the past 24 hours one other person was declared recovered, leaving 14 cases active, the same number as Monday.

There is currently one Chatham-Kent resident reported to be hospitalized from COVID-19. Throughout the pandemic there have only been two deaths from the virus. Chatham-Kent remains one of the municipalities with the lowest death rate. 

Sarnia-Lambton currently has four active cases of COVID-19.

On Tuesday, Point Edward’s mandatory mask bylaw came into effect, joining the municipalities of Sarnia, Petrolia, and Lambton Shores.

Warwick followed in the footsteps of Plympton-Wyoming and St. Clair Township and rejected a mandatory mask bylaw at its Monday night council meeting. The remaining Lambton County municipalities have not individually voted on the issue.

Windsor-Essex has once again fallen below the 100-mark for active cases, reporting only 74 on Monday morning. Middlesex-London remains with 32 active cases and Southwestern Public Health (Oxford- Elgin-St. Thomas) sits at 25.

On Monday, Ontario hit its fifth straight day with 100 new COVID-19 cases. According to provincial officials, only four of the 34 local health units reported more than five new cases. 

Eighteen of the remaining 30 health units saw no new cases at all in the last 24 hours.
