Three new COVID cases; fewer active cases overall in C-K

Chatham-Kent Public Health reported three new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend and none on Monday. 

Chatham-Kent ended last week with 17 active cases. By Monday afternoon, six more people were declared recovered, leaving only 14 cases active.

There is currently one Chatham-Kent resident reported to be hospitalized from COVID-19.
Sarnia-Lambton reported eight active cases of COVID-19 on Monday.  

Lambton County is one of the few places left resisting a regional masking bylaw, leaving each municipality to decide for themselves. 

On Monday Lambton Shores mandatory mask bylaw came into effect, and later in the evening the township of Warwick will vote on the issue. 

On Tuesday, a masking bylaw will be officially in place for Point Edward. 

Windsor-Essex has reported 106 active cases of COVID-19 as of Monday morning. Middlesex-London remains with 33 cases and Southwestern Public Health (Oxford- Elgin-St. Thomas) sits at 27.

Ontario’s new COVID-19 cases tallied at 105 on Monday. 

It was the fourth day in a row with more than 100 cases reported province-wide. Provincial active cases once again surpassed 1,000.

The new cases reported on Monday morning were mostly concentrated in Ottawa, Toronto and Peel Region. Approximately 20 came from Southwest Ontario.

Nineteen out of Ontario’s 34 public health unit’s reported no new cases. The 19 health units are in northernwestern and eastern Ontario – with the exception of Ottawa.
