Drug raid nets fentanyl

On Thursday, the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act warrant on Raleigh Street in Chatham. As a result of the search, a quantity of fentanyl, scales, ammunition and Canadian currency was seized.

Mathew Reynolds 38, possession for the purpose of trafficking in fentanyl, and two counts of breaching a prohibition order.

He was released with a future court date of Sept. 3.

Threats 

Police have arrested a man following an altercation in Chatham.

On Thursday, the victim and the accused were involved in a minor motor vehicle collision. 

The accused approached the victim and a verbal dispute occurred. 

Police say the accused brandished a knife towards the victim and made threatening utterances.

A 25-year-old is charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats. 

B&E in Ridgetown 

The Chatham-Kent police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Ridgetown.

Sometime overnight between July 29 and July 30, someone gained entry into a building on Main Street East and removed a variety of tools and a UTV vehicle. 

The vehicle and tools have been recovered.

Theft

Police arrested and charged an adult male after they say he took merchandise from a business on St. Clair Street without making any attempt to pay for it.

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with failing to comply, theft under $5,000 and possession under $5,000.
