RM 40 Classic Lager, a limited-edition beer courtesy RM Sotheby’s and Sons of Kent Brewing Co., will be available locally starting on Friday and while supplies last.

RM Sotheby’s, in partnership with Sons of Kent Brewing Co., announced this week there will be a special-edition, one-of-a-kind beer, created in celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary.

Available only in limited quantities and while supplies last, the beer, dubbed “RM 40 Classic Lager.” will be available in six-packs for $19.50 at Sons of Kent in Downtown Chatham beginning Friday at noon, with the first few packs being sold by Rob Myers, RM Sotheby’s Founder, Chairman & CEO.

The beer will also be available on draft at Sons of Kent and the Chilled Cork Restaurant & Lounge, as well as in single cans at various locations through the 40th Anniversary weekend, including the Sam Roberts Band concert in Tecumseh Park on Friday.

With the can design brought to life by RM Sotheby’s creative team, Sons of Kent head brewer Colin Chrysler took on the beer recipe development, nodding to the classics with a California Common Lager. This historical style was originally developed in the late 1800s in Northern California, where lager-style brewing was still a very new method outside of Germany.
