A car, tools and some jewelry are in the wrong hands thanks to several thefts recently.
Chatham-Kent police say sometime between Sunday night at 9 p.m. and Monday morning at 8 a.m., someone stole a 2011 Chevy Cruz that was parked on Holland Avenue in Chatham.
The car was last seen sporting the plates BMVJ 425.
Police say the car was unlocked and the keys were in it.
Also stolen, as it was in the trunk, was a Super Black Eagle II 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun with ammunition.
You read that correctly: unlocked car, with the keys in it, with a shotgun and ammo in the trunk.

Also sometime over the weekend, someone forced their way into a workshop on Water Street in Wallaceburg and stole a variety of tools worth a combined $8,000.

Yesterday, sometime between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m., thieves forced their way into a Canterbury Street residence in Chatham and stole jewelry and a quantity of cash.
