Chatham Maroon fans left the team’s Oct. 13 game more than half a ton lighter, after donating in excess of 1,100 pounds of food.

The Maroons set the game against Strathroy as the date fans could bring in non-perishable food items to support the Farm Credit Corporation’s Drive Away Hunger program.

The food will be distributed to local food banks in Chatham-Kent.
