Chatham-Kent police officers saved the day on Saturday after someone made off with $8,000 in camera equipment from a photographer preparing for a wedding.

Police received a call about 3:30 p.m. Saturday that a man on a bike rode off with the equipment.

Dispatchers broadcast the man’s description and last known direction. Officers, within minutes, located the man and recovered the equipment.

As one officer took the suspect into police headquarters, another headed to the site of the wedding and returned the equipment just in time for the photographer to capture the bride and groom’s special day.
