Sir: I’d like to publicly acknowledge the efforts of Gail Bishop and her team at the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce for its spectacular efforts at the May CEO/OCC conference. I was so impressed with the experience and the wonderful feedback from our delegates.

There was so much thought into this event. Guests were buzzing throughout their stay and long after. I’ve never been prouder of my hometown.

From the Sunshine pickles, to the delicious Thompson’s popcorn, lavender water, wine … you name it! Yours is the tastiest county in the province!

I had some lovely runs during my stay. It was so fun to be joined by a group of encouraging runners from Up and Running one Saturday morning. I very much enjoyed the beautiful flowers along Grand Avenue. Wow, the city sure shone that week! Healthy, wealthy and gorgeous.

I can’t say enough about the staff at the Holiday Inn and Carol at the Convention Centre. You blew away all expectations. These facilities are wonderfully comfortable and convenient. Real gems. Thursday night at Chilled Cork and Mama Maria’s were delicious. Absolutely delicious! It was wonderful for me to see the downtown so vibrant. The fun welcome at Jazz Bah, and cozy atmosphere at Friendz – I can’t say enough about the warm, welcoming nature of everyone involved.

And the music … what a great band; so much fun to dance with folks from across the province and re-acquaint with so many Chatham folks I hadn’t seen since the 1980s.

Gail and her team have set the bar soooo high! This was by far the most successful CEO conference. Thank you, your team, staff, volunteers, sponsors and community partners. You have left a lasting positive impression of a wonderful community. Go, C-K, go!
