The kids are back in school, but summer remains staunchly in the air.

This from Environment Canada:

Heat Warning in effect for:

  • Chatham-Kent – Rondeau Park
  • Windsor – Leamington – Essex County

A heat event will continue through Wednesday.

A hot and very humid airmass remains in place over the area. Maximum daytime temperatures near 32 degrees are generally expected through Wednesday with humidex values near or above 41. Overnight minimum temperatures will likely remain near 21 degrees providing little relief from the heat.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible each day which could reduce maximum daytime highs. However, maximum daily humidex values are still expected to be near 41.

A cold front is expected to move through Wednesday night bringing an end to the hot and humid weather.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
