A driver is dead this afternoon following a crash on Highway 40 at Langstaff Line northwest of Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent OPP say officers from the local detachment, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service, plus local fire and EMS personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection.
A southbound tractor-trailer collided with an eastbound motor vehicle, police say.
Both drivers were taken to hospital, but one was pronounced dead.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Hwy. 40 between Whitebread Line and Dufferin Avenue will be closed for about six hours, police say, as the OPP Traffic Collision Investigators complete their work piecing together what happened.
