VON Chatham-Kent is holding its 11th annual Memorial Butterfly Release on Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. at a new location.
Last year, it took place at Veterans’ Tribute Garden on Thames Street, but this year it will run at 190 Stanley Ave., where the VON’s offices are located in Chatham.
VON officials said a memorial garden has been planted for this event, with the assistance of Union Gas’ Helping Hands in Action crews.
The service on Aug. 18 begins at 10 a.m. and will include an inspirational reading, music and reading of the names.
Light refreshments will be served following the butterfly release.
Monarch Butterflies are available for $25 each and orders must be in by Aug. 10.
