Some break-ins are for theft; others are out of pure anger.
On Feb. 22, Chatham-Kent police had to investigate both.
Police say a man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s residence Sunday and assaulted a man inside before fleeing prior to police arrival.
He showed up at police headquarters Monday to answer to the charges.
A 30-year-old Chatham man is charged with break and enter, and assault.
Meanwhile police are investigating two other break-ins that took place Sunday.
In once case, someone kicked in the victim’s door at the Travellers Motel on Queen’s Line in Chatham and made off with undisclosed items.
