Three Chatham-Kent schools will host en exhibit in the coming days that’s travelling across the country.
The “It’s an Honour!” exhibit first lands at King George Public School in Chatham on Monday and Tuesday and then at Ridgetown District High School Feb. 13 and 14, followed by a stop at Dresden Area Central School Feb. 23 and 24.
The exhibit provides information on the Canadian Honours system. It will tour schools, community centres and special events until July, designed to inspire viewers of all ages.
Mounted in a specially designed 1000-square-foot vehicle, the exhibit showcases stories of Canadians who have been recognized for their achievements with national honours such as the Order of Canada, decorations for bravery and military valour decorations. Featuring interpretative panels, multimedia elements and artifacts, the exhibit provides an opportunity for visitors to learn more about these honours through an interactive learning experience.
The exhibit is open to the public from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at King George, and again from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. the next day.
In Ridgetown, visitors can stop by from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 13 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the next day.
Finally, in Dresden, the public can view the exhibit from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
