Police are trying to piece together what led to a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening that has left a teenaged girl fighting for her life in hospital.
The crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Communication Road between Drury Line and Burk Line. A vehicle, driven by a 33-year-old Chatham man, left the roadway after police say the driver lost control.
Two passengers, a 25-year-old Blenheim man and a 16-year-old Chatham girl, were injured in the crash. The teen had to be transferred to hospital in London, as she suffered life-threatening injuries, police say.
Police closed Communication Road for several hours as they investigated, but are looking to the public to help.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that may assist investigators is asked to contact Const. Shelton Richardson at 519-355-1092 or by email at [email protected]. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
