Police say they nabbed a woman yesterday who was toting goods stolen from two different stores.

At about 12:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent police say they received a call from a St. Clair Street store where an employee tried to stop a suspected shoplifter, and was assaulted. The female suspect fled.

Officers made an arrest a short distance away and upon searching the woman, found she was in possession of property taken from another business as well.

A 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman is charged with two counts of theft, two counts of possession of stolen goods, and one count of assault in connection with the incident.
