A local motorcycle group is revving its engines, seeking to raise funds for the Chatham Goodfellows and other projects.
The Chatham-Kent Chapter of Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers (CMC) are in the middle of a 50/50 campaign. From now until July 5, participants can enter to possibly win as much as $20,000.
All funds raised from the effort will support the Goodfellows.
Tickets are $5 each and are available from CMC members.
Also, on July 4, from noon until 4 p.m., the Cruisers are running a Show and Shine in Tecumseh Park. Motorcycle owners can take part for $5 to enter in four different categories.
Proceeds will also go to the Goodfellows.
Later in the month, the CMC will run a poker run – on July 25 – which will feature a number of stops around Chatham-Kent. Proceeds again will support the Goodfellows.
On Sept. 27, the CMC will lead a ride through the municipality, stopping at various cenotaph locations. The proceeds from this endeavour will help support the Veterans’ Tribute Garden in Chatham.
