Home Letters to the Editor LETTER: Time will tell

LETTER: Time will tell

Editor: I’ve been reading The Voice regularly. As usual, it’s full of news and really good articles.

But in the May 21 issue, what you couldn’t miss was the photo of drug alley.

Some councillors are not in favour of closing the King Street Alley off, but others are. I’ll go with the latter group.

It’s been a problem for a long time; sleeping; yes, drugs; and garbage. I believe at one time it was full of weeds.

I don’t think anyone needs access to it.

Also in that week’s Voice, the piece on Meadow Park Nursing Home – I can’t say I know the ins and outs for the issue. But it sure needs to be put to good use.

But to help house the homeless, I believe is a never-ending situation for far too long.

They mention it is close to Ursuline College Chatham and also the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre. There was no mention to it being close to a retirement home where we have already had homeless wandering the grounds and a few residents who like to walk with a walker are worried. Are they going to be safe if the wrong ones access Meadow Park?

As usual, time will tell.
