70 years of support

Community Living Wallaceburg is having a 70th birthday party and you’re invited.

For 70 years, Community Living Wallaceburg (CLW) has been dedicated to breaking barriers and championing a community where people of all abilities are valued and empowered. On May 28, the organization will commemorate the seven decades with a celebration at the Sydenham Curling Club.

“This evening stands as a testament to the vibrant spirit of persons with diverse abilities, the resilience of our agency, and the unwavering dedication of the families we serve throughout Wallaceburg and Chatham-Kent,” CLW officials said in a media release.

Hosted at the Sydenham Curling Club, the event will feature a three-course dinner catered by The Black Goose. Tickets are available for $100 with a $50 charitable tax receipt.

“This anniversary is a significant tribute to the 70 years of organizational evolution and the profound accomplishments of the individuals we support,” Roger Romses, executive director of CLW, said in a media release. “The longevity of our agency is a credit to the many dedicated community members, volunteers, and employees that established us as a pillar of support in our community over these seven decades. From day one there was focus on innovation, respect, and helping those with developmental disabilities find their voice.”

In honor of this journey, the evening will feature the premiere of a commemorative video exploring the foundation of CLW. This cinematic reflection will share the agency’s earliest beginnings and its transformation over the years.

Guests will also have the opportunity to explore a collection of historical photos.
