Sowing the seeds of growth

The Chatham-Kent Public Library continues to grow its seed program.

On March 20, all 11 branches will be offering a variety of vegetable, herb and flower seeds for residents to grow, as part of its Grows Seed Libraries program.

Since starting the Grows Seed Library 10 years ago, the library has seen more than 20,000 packages of seeds “checked out” by residents.

CKPL’s Seed Library provide free seeds for residents to borrow so they can grow healthy gardens, have access to affordable food, and create beautiful spaces in their own backyards and communities.

All you need is a valid CKPL library card.

The library is also looking for donations of any variety of seeds for the Seed Library. Residents are also encouraged to save seeds from their gardens this year and donate them to the program for use next season.
