Her’s a strange one from the weekend: Two men were allegedly assaulted and held against their will Friday at a Princess Street residence in Chatham.
It gets even odder.
Police were informed about the matter about 12:40 a.m. Saturday morning. They learned one victim had been hit in the head with a hatchet and needed medical attention. It is also alleged the attacker tried to hit him with a screwdriver.
A 48-year-old man is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and forcible confinement.
