
Wallaceburg’s industrial glory days are about to be marked with a special guided tour on Family Day Feb. 16.
Dubbed the “Baldoon Wagon Run,” the Wallaceburg and District Historical Society event is offering young and old a chance to travel to the past detailing the history of important businesses that fueled the community’s prosperity.
The unique story-telling initiative will carry participants to various locations, including Lumber and Staves, Empire Oil Refinery, Hawken Milling, the Glass Factory, Brass Factory, Mac Craft, Sugar Beet Factory, Libby’s Food Processing, Lee Machine Shop, Wallaceburg Bookbinding, as well as North American Plastics.
The Baldoon Wagon Run starts at the museum at 10 a.m. Tickets are $15 per person, with a discounted rate of $10 for museum members. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Wallaceburg and District Museum at 505 King St., Wallaceburg, or by calling 519-627-8962.
