Following two months of investigation, Chatham-Kent police say they have arrested a Chatham man for stealing several vehicles.
Police say the thefts took place throughout the municipality.
Officers from the Intelligence Unit worked to track down the culprit, and 60 days later, they had their suspect.
On Wednesday, police executed a search warrant “at a residence in Chatham-Kent.”
A 22-year-old Chatham man is charged with three counts of theft of a motor vehicle, four of possession of property obtained by crime, three of operating a motor vehicle while prohibited and one count of possession contrary to a prohibition order.
In other words, police say this guy was boosting cars at a time when he was not even allowed to drive.
He received an all-expenses-paid trip to the South West Detention Centre, where he’ll remain at least until his video court appearance Feb. 9.
