Two new doctors are joining the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s surgery team.
Dr. Samantha Albacete and Dr. Eileen Bui are now members of CKHA’s general surgery department.
Albacete brings extensive training and award-winning clinical expertise to CKHA. She completed her Bachelor of Science at Dalhousie University and her Doctor of Medicine at McMaster University’s Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine.
She went on to complete a five-year General Surgery Residency at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, earning both the Canadian Association of General Surgery Excellence in Resident Teaching Award and the R.E. Fraser Award for Excellence in Teaching and Mentorship.
“I am excited to return to my Ontario roots and call Chatham-Kent home,” Albacete said in a media release. “I look forward to offering a full range of general surgery services to serve our community.”
Bui completed her Bachelor of Science at McGill University and her Doctor of Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She completed an internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Queens and graduated from General Surgery Residency at the University of Tennessee in Nashville.
In 2024, Dr. Bui returned to her Canadian roots, attending McMaster University for the Advanced GI Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship program.
“I am excited to open my practice here in Chatham,” said Bui. “It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to provide care here, and I look forward to continuing to serve and be a part of this wonderful community.”
Dr. Zeke Milkovic, chief of staff at CKHA, said the new surgeons are welcomed.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Albacete and Dr. Bui to CKHA,” he said. “Dr. Albacete’s strong academic and surgical training makes her an excellent addition to our surgical team, and Dr. Bui has already made a positive impression at CKHA through her locum work. We are confident that both physicians will have a positive impact on the health and well-being of patients across Chatham-Kent.”
The physicians both offer a full scope of general surgical practice and will also support CKHA’s breast cancer program.
