LETTER: Poor traffic planning bogs traffic on Queen St.

Editor: So there I sat again. Me and the others. Stuck on Queen Street heading north, waiting for the light at Park Avenue.

I think to myself, “I should have brought my birdhouse. I could have painted it by now.”

At long last the southbound traffic on Queen started moving again. But not us. We had to sit some more.

My fellow suffering travellers were getting impatient. Some edged forward. Some revved their engines. One even hit the horn.

An this is a daily occurrence for the last year or so. I don’t know why. It used to be better. Do the people who set up the traffic light times do any study? Do they even live in Chatham?

I’ve seen Queen Street at Park Avenue heading north backed up beyond Alexandra Avenue.

And by the time we finally get to go, everyone’s so fed up that it’s like the start of the Daytona 500.

So, whoever is in charge, please, please fix this ridiculous situation.

Life’s too short to sit around for no reason.
