A woman is in custody after police say she showed up where she wasn’t wanted, and tried to steal.
On Wednesday, shortly before 1 p.m., police say a woman entered the LCBO on Wellington Street in Chatham and began pulling bottles of booze off the shelves and trying to hide them in a coat and blanket.
Police say she made no attempt to pay for the alcohol.

Mere minutes later – as police headquarters are just around the corner – officer arrived and arrested the woman.
A 31-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is charged with theft and failing to comply.
