Note to drug growers: Don’t get into a fight in your grow op!
Chatham-Kent police responded to a call of domestic violence in Wheatley shortly after 9 p.m. last night. Police say a man and woman were arguing, but the dispute turned physical.
Officers entered the residence to ensure everyone was safe, police say, and walked into a marijuana grow op. They seized 20 mature plants, 60 young pot plans and a bag of processed buds.
Police estimate the total street value at more than $81,000.
A 32-year-old Wheatley man is charged with assault and production of a controlled substance.
The man’s roommate, a 50-year-old Wheatley man, also faces charges of production of a controlled substance.
