Why are you running?
As the number of political candidates indicates, there are many people unhappy with the direction, priority, style, approach and execution of Mayor Canniff and Administration. I am a choice, a voice, and an instrument of change to bring power back to the people and reason to the horseshoe.
What are the two biggest issues for the next term of council?
Spending is out of control. I believe a major change in faces representing the citizens of Chatham-Kent is necessary to course-correct before it is too late. I believe in focusing on taxes, infrastructure, and administrative culture instead of legacy projects and expenditures with no benefit to the public.
What do you hope to achieve if elected?
Echoing other candidates, I am for financial and administrative accountability. What might set me apart from many candidates is the desire to revitalize the independence of rural communities by having community councils.
What skills and experience do you bring?
I am very comfortable working in high-level, sometimes hostile, environments. I have been a volunteer and quarterbacked many community efforts and supported countless others.
The experience I have had watching administration take control from council since 2012 has been terribly disappointing. Whether it is myself or anyone else, we need an elected force capable of staring down administration and taking control of our future.
