To offer a new way forward with fresh perspectives on issues and clear objectives guided by practical solutions.
There are good things happening here in CK and we need to be united and focused on collaboration and demonstrate the willingness to look at and explore new revenue sources, increase productivity and deliver better results with clear timelines to taxpayers.
My rural roots and bilingual upbringing, as well as my blue-collar background, help to position myself as a strong voice and servant of the people.
What are the two biggest issues for the next term of council?
- The crisis situation regarding encampments and homelessness and the lack of response increases the severity and reflects the silenced voices of neighborhood committees, who, as do I, reject and oppose the placement of encampments in the proximity of residential areas.
We can do better by implementing a baseline specific action, funding source, and accountability with measured outcomes.
The co-ordination of multiple agencies and services is a first step to aligning the needs of compassionate care with structure.
- The need to be more productive and apply critical thinking and ingenuity to deliver results regarding housing. Lowering approval times to occupancy, enforceable affordability terms and reducing development charges. It is time to restore the dream of home ownership and provide affordable options to the current financial challenges we face.
What do you hope to achieve if elected?
My core goal is getting more results and value using the same or fewer resources to increase overall efficiency. And I will be a strong voice for funding and support to arts and culture, youth retention, and senior care.
What skills and experience do you bring?
My 20 years of working in the restaurant industry has given me a tough skin, hard-work ethic, people skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently. Being a homeowner has taught me valuable lessons of fiscal responsibility and addressing maintenance issues for long term viability.
