Teen art winners announced

The Chatham-Kent Public Library challenged local teen artists, and those teens delivered.

Library officials have announce the winners of the 2026 Teen Art Contest, which invited young artists across the community to explore this year’s theme, “Imagination.”

“CKPL is incredibly proud of the creativity, effort, and passion demonstrated by our community’s teen artists,” officials stated in a media release. “The contest provided an opportunity for participants to express themselves through a variety of artistic mediums while showcasing their unique perspectives and talents.”

The Teen Art Contest features four distinct categories – Mixed Media, Painting, Drawing, and Photography – highlighting the diversity of artistic expression.

Ivy Vandendool, with her “Beyond,” won top spot for Mixed Media.

Diti Nirella, “My Perfect Photograph,” took top honours for Painting.

Hillary Skellet, “Gachiakuta,” led the Drawing category.

Klhoe Tinning’s “The Upside Down,” took top Photography position.

All artwork will be showcased online and featured in a digital gallery across CKPL branches.
