CK Public Health officials warn of possible issues from work done at an uninspected tattoo parlour.
“Chatham-Kent Public Health has identified inadequate equipment disinfection practices at an uninspected and unlicensed tattoo provider,” according to a municipal press release. . These concerns apply to tattoo services provided at the business at 592 Wallace St. E. in Wallaceburg, between Jan. 1 and June 29 of this year.
“Individuals who received services at this location during the specified timeframe are advised to contact their health-care provider to arrange a clinical assessment. Those without a health care provider should visit a walk‑in clinic for evaluation,” public health officials said.
Insufficient infection control procedures during tattoo services increase the risk of transmitting blood-borne infections, such as HIV or Hepatitis, as well as infections of the skin.
