Upgrades at the Thamesville’s Good Shepherd Catholic School will see the expansion of child-care programming in East Kent.
Awarded by the St. Clair Catholic District School Board June 16, the $895,444 project includes mechanical, accessibility and washroom improvements, as well as the reopening of a closed classroom to create a new 24-space preschool room. It will feature its own dedicated outdoor play area and separate entrance.
The contract has been awarded to Agri-Urban Building Inc. in Dresden.
The board is collaborating with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and the Thamesville and Area Learning Centre child-care provider on the effort.
Funding will come from School Condition Improvement funds, accessibility funding and third-party support through the municipality directly supported by the Ministry of Education.
The approval brings the board’s total 2025-2026 capital investment to $5.22 million across nine projects.
