11 arrested, one charged in drug raids

A two-pronged drug raid June 2 resulted in drug trafficking charges against an Etobicoke man, as well as the seizure of about $30,000 in illegal drugs.

Chatham-Kent police raided two homes, one on McNaughton Avenue East and one on Selkirk Street in Chatham, minutes apart.

On McNaughton Avenue, eight people were arrested. On Selkirk, there were three more people taken into custody.

Found were about 100 grams each of fentanyl and cocaine, cell phones, digital scales, packing materials and what police say was “a large quantity” of cash.

An Etobicoke man, 30, faces two counts of possession of fentanyl and cocaine for the purposes of trafficking. Everyone else was released.
