LETTER: Renoviction efforts should never be allowed

Editor: It was nice to see some news by Pam Wright on Terrace Forty apartments recently. Nice to see Jeff Wilkins and Gord Harvey out there for the tenants.

I hope to see this as a real win situation, although I am no longer a tenant there. But I was for 11 years.

Now I read these owners had four apartments they are working on. So why would they need to move all tenants out where these four were empty to work around?

The owners said there is a major health problem in the building. That’s a good one! One lady had lived there for 32 years. There are some older ones there, I should think.

The ones I did know unfortunately have died, but it sure wasn’t from asbestos.

After him trying to renovict in about three buildings, he should never be able to get away with it.

I hope he sleeps at night.

But, as he sees it, it’s the only way he can get the rent money he wants.

As Jeff Wilkins says, it’s deplorable. I say it’s wicked.

I hope things go well for the tenants so the landlord can hopefully never try to go this route again.
