A woman is safe and a man faces charges after police say someone brandished a knife and threatened the woman inside a vehicle Tuesday night in Chatham.
Officers learned that an 18-year-old woman was threatened with a knife during an altercation inside a vehicle.
The victim was able to escape, police say and later reported the incident. She sustained minor injuries.
A 23-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, forcible confinement, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and failing to comply with a probation order.
