
B&E charges
A Chatham man faces break and enter charges after a Tuesday morning incident in Wallaceburg.
Police were called about 10:50 a.m. for the report of a break and enter in progress on Murray Street in Wallaceburg.
The house was supposed to be unoccupied, police say, but officers found a man inside and arrested him, as he did not have permission to be there.
A 38-year-old Chatham man is charged with break and enter with intent to commit theft.
Driver crashes, flees scene
A Wallaceburg woman faces numerous charges in the wake of a Tuesday evening accident in Wallaceburg.
Police say the crash took place about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Margaret Avenue.
One of the vehicles involved in the collision fled the scene.
Officers located it on University Drive. Police say the vehicle had damage consistent to the accident.
A woman was standing next to the vehicle. Police say she refused to identify herself. The officers also spotted open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle.
Police say the woman showed signs of impairment, and was arrested, and brought to headquarters for breath tests.
Except, police say, she refused to co-operate.
A 46-year-old Wallaceburg woman is charged with failing to stop after an accident, obstructing police, impaired driving, mischief, refusing a breath demand and driving without insurance.
